Mat is an Environmental Engineer and Partner with the firm. He has extensive experience with airport environmental issues including NPDES Permit Management for the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and is the regulatory liaison and primary contact for client relations. Mat also works on stormwater and wastewater permitting issues for various clients including experience with the mining industry.
Mat is the Project Manager for a series of projects designed to better understand aircraft deicing fluid's impacts on airport stormwater discharge and how airports current infrastructure performs in capturing and containing spent aircraft deicing fluids. As the Glycol Recovery Program project engineer, Mat has experience in developing and optimizing the glycol recovery program at MSP and tracking program effectiveness of incremental advances each season. He also acts as the Project Manager and primary client contact for Rochester International Airport and has experience serving as a mediator between the Rhode Island Airport Corporation and their regulatory agency regarding NPDES re-permitting disputes.
Mat obtained his Masters of Science in Environment Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and his Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Environmental Studies from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He currently serves on the American Association of Airport Executives Environmental Subcommittee.
