James is a Professional Engineer and Partner at Liesch with 33 years of experience as a Design Engineer and Project Manager in a variety of civil and environmental engineering fields. James has extensive experience with wastewater pretreatment and treatment design for both private and municipal clients.

He works with clients on projects from initial conception through construction in finding solutions for water supply by locating, developing, and managing water supplies for public water suppliers and industries. He guides clients with water and wastewater issues by developing facility designs and implementing plans to meet both the client’s business needs as well as regulatory compliances. His extensive expertise allows clients to save significantly on their capital and operational costs.

James also assists clients with industrial waste reduction matters and serves as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance standards are met. James has also acted as a consulting City Engineer for many communities in Minnesota. He has experience in assisting clients by preparing preliminary engineering reports, plans and specifications, and managing construction services.

As a Construction Manager, James directed many projects including sanitary sewer rehabilitation and drainage problems, municipal bridges, street repair, seal coat projects, parking lot construction as well as streets, sewer, water, curb and storm sewer for subdivisions.

James has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis/St. Paul. He serves on committees for the Central States Water Environment Federation and the American Council of Engineering Companies. James is also active in planning proactive environmental issues with his local city government.
