Project Background
Liesch has years of experience with the Federal Aviation Administration with hazardous material abatement design and abatement oversight. These projects have included: Air Traffic Control Towers, Air Traffic Control Centers, MALSAR and ORV Buildings, structural light towers, and a bridge.
Hazardous materials at these sites have included: asbestos containing materials (ACM), airborne asbestos fibers, fluorescent light fixtures, mercury containing devices, oil filled devices, miscellaneous wastes, and equipment that contains ozone-depleting chemicals (ODCs).
Scope of Work
Liesch has been retained to complete over two dozen asbestos surveys, hazardous material abatement design, project oversight, and building decommissioning activities prior to demolition.
Liesch was also contracted by the FAA to identify lead-based paint on structures, and complete specification development for the removal and proper packaging of damaged and peeling paint, surface preparation and the application of new surface coatings.
